FAQ

Where is my data stored?
Tasks, rewards and daily records stay in the browser on this phone or computer. The server does not receive any information about your child. To keep a long-term record, print the month with "Print calendar".
How do streaks work, and what happens if we miss a day?
A day counts when every task is done. 3, 7 and 30-day streaks unlock bigger rewards that the parent sets in advance. People need different amounts of time, so a missed day does not reset everything: you go back to the last level reached (for example, miss a day at 9 days and you continue from 7). A 12-week study of adults found that the time for a habit to become automatic ranged from 18 to 254 days, and missing an occasional day did not noticeably affect the result (Lally et al., 2010, European Journal of Social Psychology).
How many tasks should we set?
Starting with 1 to 4 clear, observable habits, beginning with easy ones, is a common approach in practice guides (University of Washington CBT+ Home Token Economy Guide). The page shows a reminder when there are more than 4, since starting smaller makes success easier.
What can parents do after a task is checked off?
Giving a reward right after the behavior is a common recommendation in parent-training guides; the calendar keeps the record, and a specific word of praise in the moment is what matters (University of Washington CBT+ Home Token Economy Guide). Research has found that praising specific actions and effort is associated with children later having a more growth-oriented motivation (Gunderson et al., 2013, Child Development; Henderlong and Lepper, 2002, Psychological Bulletin). So each check mark shows a specific line of praise a parent can say.
How should we choose rewards?
A meta-analysis of 41 studies found that giving children a say in choices increased intrinsic motivation and effort (Patall, Cooper and Robinson, 2008, Psychological Bulletin), so the reward field includes "Let the kid choose". Meta-analyses on both sides of the debate note that positive verbal feedback supports motivation (Deci et al., 1999; Cameron et al., 2001); for things a child already enjoys, such as reading or drawing, verbal praise is usually enough.
Can screen time be a reward?
Taiwan's Health Promotion Administration (Ministry of Health and Welfare) advises no screens under age 2 and no more than 1 hour a day from age 2. The WHO recommends no more than 1 hour of sedentary screen time a day for ages 2 to 4, and less is better (WHO, 2019). Two observational studies found that in families who use screens to control behavior, children had longer screen time (Tang et al., 2018; Nagata et al., 2026), so the suggested rewards here are mostly non-screen ones such as park time, picking dinner or a bedtime story; keep any screen rewards within the 1-hour daily limit.
What is the stamp on the coupon?
It is made automatically from "Dad", "Mom" or a name you type, as a round or square stamp on the coupon. It is a fun family stamp design; use an official seal for formal documents.
Can I print it?
Yes. "Print calendar" prints this month's calendar and the coupons already unlocked. Each coupon can also be downloaded as an image to share in a family chat.
Is there a Chinese version?
Yes. Tap 中文 at the top to switch to the Traditional Chinese page; tasks, coupons and the calendar switch to Chinese.
